CLONTERBROOK RECITAL – BETTY BANNERMAN AWARD FOR FRENCH SONG

Clonter is delighted to be presenting a recital to be given by Jessica Hopkins, last year’s winner of the Betty Bannerman Award for French Song, established for students at the Royal Northern College of Music. The recital will take place in the Music Room at Clonterbrook (1 minute drive from Clonter Opera Theatre).

POLLY GIBBONS – ‘AS IT IS’

Last summer, singer and songwriter Polly Gibbons released her ninth album, ‘As It Is’. A departure from straight-ahead swinging jazz, this is her first album of all-original songs written, arranged and produced by Polly and co-produced by long-time musical collaborator and artistic director at Ronnie Scott’s, James Pearson.

JAMES PEARSON & FRIENDS

James Pearson is a pianist, composer and creative tour de force. He is the Artistic Director at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club where his trio are the house band. Their last album ‘Swing the Club’, recorded live at the venue, received excellent reviews across the board.

TEA WITH… SONGS FROM THE SHOWS

This increasingly popular Clonter event consists of an hour of music, followed by traditional afternoon tea. The tea itself includes smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumber, and egg mayonnaise sandwiches, with the crusts cut off, followed by a tiered cake stand presented to your table with an assortment of goodies.

KARINE POLWART & DAVE MILLIGAN
